Achill Island<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Achill Island liegt etwas abgelegen und ist relativ unbekannt – ganz zu Unrecht, wie ich finde. Auf der Insel in der Grafschaft Mayo verbringe ich 3 Wochen auf einer Schaffarm und lerne so Land, Tier\u2018 und Leute kennen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Besondere: Ihre Nachbarn ringsherum sind Schafe. Denn die leben das ganze Jahr \u00fcber frei in den Bergen und in der \u201eStadt\u201c. F\u00fcr viele Touristen ist es ein Highlight die Wolltiere auf den Stra\u00dfen, in den Vorg\u00e4rten, am Strand oder auf dem Golfplatz zu treffen. Ich musste w\u00e4hrend meiner Zeit so einige Schafe und L\u00e4mmer vor zu schnell fahrenden Autos retten und erstmal im Schritttempo wieder von den Stra\u00dfen holen. Planen Sie also etwas mehr Zeit f\u00fcr die Strecke ein \u2013 Schafe k\u00f6nnten den nicht vorhandenen Zebrastreifen nutzen wollen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mein Tipp:<\/strong> Auch wenn es eine \u201eSackgasse\u201c ist, lassen Sie sich den Keem Beach nicht entgehen. Der Ausblick und die landschaftliche Vielfalt werden Ihnen mit Sicherheit den Atem rauben. Der Strand wird von gewaltigen Klippen umrahmt und bietet Ihnen einen Wanderweg, der 1,5 km auf den Klippen von Benmore zur westlichsten Spitze der Insel, Achill Head, f\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Galway<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Belebt, gelassen und immer zum Feiern bereit. Bei meiner Ankunft bin ich zuerst etwas \u00fcberfordert. Ich checke in meinem zentral gelegenen Hostel ein und werde direkt f\u00fcr einen \u201ePub Crawl\u201c am Abend eingeladen. Von den gem\u00fctlichen alten Pubs voller Torfduft und einladender Ecken bis zu den L\u00e4den, die auf moderne Clubmusik setzen, in Galway geht es rund!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ich erkunde zuerst die historischen Gassen und mache einen Spaziergang an der K\u00fcstenpromenade \u2013 denn auch in Galway finden Sie sch\u00f6ne Str\u00e4nde. Abends geht hier das Leben dann richtig los und Sie erleben die Iren bei ihren Lieblingsbesch\u00e4ftigungen: Singen, Tanzen und Guinness trinken \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mein Tipp:<\/strong> Von Galway lassen sich tolle Tagestouren buchen. Zum Beispiel zur Kylemore Abbey oder zu den ber\u00fchmten Cliffs of Moher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Killarney mit dem Killarney Nationalpark<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201eWenn die Grafschaft Kerry \u201edas K\u00f6nigreich\u201c ist, dann ist Killarney wohl ein Juwel in seiner Krone.\u201c In Killarney zeigt sich die Sch\u00f6nheit Irlands von ihrer besten Seite. Im Nationalpark gibt es unz\u00e4hlige Wanderwege f\u00fcr verschiedene Konditionslevel und auch die Stadt selbst ist auf jeden Fall einen Bummel wert. Wasserf\u00e4lle, Aussichtspunkte, Bergwanderungen, Badeseen \u2013 die Landschaft ist vielf\u00e4ltig und lie\u00df mich jeden Tag aufs Neue ins Schw\u00e4rmen kommen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mein Tipp:<\/strong> Wandern Sie zum Torc Waterfall. Denn da gilt \u201eauch der Weg kann das Ziel sein\u201c. Sie werden mit tollen Aussichten auf den Nationalpark belohnt. Wer m\u00f6chte, kann auf den Torc Mountain wandern. Oben angekommen k\u00f6nnen Sie sich bei einem Picknick erholen, bevor Sie den R\u00fcckweg antreten und vielleicht noch am nahegelegenen See beim Muckross House f\u00fcr eine Abk\u00fchlung stoppen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
